Wakesurfing (similar to, but not the same sport as Wakeboarding) is a water sport which involves riding behind a wakeboard boat, surfing the boat’s wake without being directly pulled by the boat. After getting up on the wave by use of a tow rope, wakesurfers drop the rope, and ride the steep face below the wave’s peak in a similar fashion as ocean surfing. An ocean wave provides a 5-30 second wave. With a wakesurfing, the wave is virtually perpetual.
